The experience for these people is often horrific. They pay coyotes large sums of money to lead them across the border, but once inside the US the migrants are sometimes abandoned or killed. Many die in overheated transport trucks or from dehydration in the desert. Women are sometimes assaulted and left alone. Our Border Patrol can't keep up with the numbers who are crossing.
