Circumstances of Discovery

The victim was found in a box and wrapped in garbage bags. The box had been taken to a city dump when someone noticed blood. There was no snow on the box in which the Cartierville body was found leaving detectives to theorize it hadn't been there long.

The victim's hands had been cut off (probably to prevent identification through fingerprints) and he had been stabbed 127 times in various parts of his body, including his face and genitals.

he extensive damage inflicted on the victim - particularly the mutilated genitals - indicates a possible crime of passion. Investigators haven't ruled out the possibility the killing was a "settling of accounts" by organized crime.
