EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. (KKTV/EPCSO) - The El Paso County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help in identifying a John Doe. EPCSO sent out the following to be shared with the public:
On November 3, 1986, at 11:13 a.m., the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office responded to human remains found 4 miles west of Interstate 25, in the Midway Ranch area. Found with the remains were pieces of Calvin Klein denim jeans size 30/33, bluish/green colored sweatshirt and a 1” wide brown leather belt. No identification was found.
A forensic autopsy, anthropology and odontology examinations were performed. The findings concluded that the human remains were those of a Caucasian male, 5’4” to 5’7”, 30 to 40 years of age, hair color is unknown. The forensic investigation determined the remains had been in place from one to four years. The Odontologist concluded that the subject had a deep overbite and no dental restorations. The Calvin Klein denim jeans were manufactured in 1981.
Missing Persons files in many jurisdictions were searched over the years and the remains have never been identified. Two forensic sculptors have created two reconstructions, one being completed in 1987 and 2016.
Photos of the reconstructions are attached to this media release. The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office requests your assistance in identifying John Doe. If you have information regarding the identity, please contact Detective Jeff Nohr at 719-520-7225.
