On April 20, 1990, a child found a human skull. It was determined that the family dog had dug it up in the backyard approximately 75 yards from the house. The house is located on County Road 421 a few miles outside of Laurel.

Other distinctive physical characteristic The decedent has diffuse idiopathic skeletal hyperostosis “DISH” (ossification of the longitudinal ligaments) which may have produced noticeable tightness in joints, a decrease in mobility, and/or pain during life.

The decedent may have told his family he had Arthritis.

Distinguishing Marks/Features: Most of the thoracic and lumbar vertebrae were fused to one another with significant osteophytic deposition on the vertebrae. Arthritis was also present on the spine. Presence of diffuse idiopathic skeletal hyperostosis.

He was thought to be White until future anthropological examination suggested he was Black.

On April 20, 1990, a child found a human skull that was later determined to have been dug up by the family dog 75 yards from the house.

Physical Characteristics
There was diffuse idiopathic skeletal hyperostosis present, which may have possibly created tightness in the joints, a decrease in mobility and pain during life.
Arthritis was present in the spine.
