JACKSON COUNTY, MO (KCTV) -

A third set of human remains have been found in the Kansas City metro in only a matter of days.

The Jackson County Sheriff's Office said deputies are investigating after the human remains were found in a wooded area near Interstate 435 and Truman Road about 7 p.m. Tuesday. They were discovered by a man searching for wild mushrooms.

Investigators determined that the bones are human and they were sent to the medical examiner's office for further examination. They said 190 bones were found, equaling about 90 percent of a total skeleton. The bones are not those of a child and they are working to determine the race, age and gender.

The cause of death is unknown at this time.

On Wednesday, human remains were discovered in both Kansas City, MO, and Kansas City, KS.

KCK police said another mushroom hunter found a skull along with other bones near I-435 and Wolcott Drive about 10:30 a.m.
