This unidentified female believed to be middle aged (aged 40 to 60) was found in Lake Michigan at Jones Island Pier #5 in May of 1974 in Milwaukee, WI. A pair of crutches was found in a barrel on top of the pier. She was believed to be Native American, Hispanic, or possibly Italian descent. Perhaps the best clue was a wedding ring. The ring had an inscription on the inside: Emiliano 28-1-1953.

Milwaukee County Jane Doe, Discovered in Wisconsin in 1974.

There are no forensic reconstructions or photos available of the Milwaukee County Jane Doe.
Jane Doe, believed to be between the ages of 40 and 60 at the time of her death, was discovered in Lake Michigan along Jones Island Pier #5 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on May 5th, 1974. She died approximately a month before she was found. A pair of crutches was found on a barrel near her remains but it's unclear if she owned them or if they are at all connected. Jane wore an upper denture, was post-menopausal, and had a blood alcohol level of .13 when she died. She wore a Mickey Mouse watch, a gold colored chain with a religious medallion on it, and a wedding band with "Emiliano 28-1-1953" inscribed inside. Pictures of these items are located below.

Though her Namus listing says that she was found with a "recognizable face" no pictures or recreations are public. She was 4'11-5'2 and 140-160 pounds with a heavyset frame. Her eye color could not be determined due to decomposition but her hair is said to be "dark or black" with slight greying. DNA and dental records are available for this decedent.
If you have any information regarding the death or identity of the Milwaukee County Jane Doe, you are encouraged to contact the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office at 414-223-1200.
Tribal Information: Jane is believed to be White with possible Hispanic or Native American ancestry. As she is unknown, so are her people.
